Hallie founded Perspecta with Shay while winding down her prior business, File and Go.  File and Go was a financial and legal organizing company that helped people get a handle on the paperwork in order to better manage their financial and legal world.  Much of Hallie’s work at File and Go has been incorporated into the products that Get It Together offers.  Prior to starting File and Go, Hallie was the Director of Funding for Decision One Mortgage.  She managed a team and motivated them through the heady years of the housing boom – and bust.  Her career leading up to her position at Decision One included Health Insurance, Life Insurance and took the NASD Series 7 exam. Hallie also had an extensive law career working on broad legal issues ranging from Estate Planning, Real Estate Closings, Debt Consolidation and many complex issues. She is a non-practicing attorney.  Hallie and her husband, Bill, live in Charlotte, NC have two grown daughters and Nero, the dog.

Shay Prosser


Shay founded Perspecta with Hallie after leaving her position as a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch.  Her passion for financial planning began about the time she began making money.  What began as hobby managing her own future, designing endless spreadsheets and having thought provoking conversations with her father, grew into a passion for knowledge and education.  Prior to embarking on a career as a financial advisor, Shay was a marketing specialist for Microsoft and for Strategic Technologies.  Her marketing and software skills have come in handy as Perspecta has grown and developed more services for clients.  Shay and her husband, Johnny, and their two young daughters and Dooley, the golden retriever, live and work in Charlotte, NC.

Our history

Perspecta was originally "Get It Together". Get It Together is the brainchild of Hallie Hawkins and Shay Prosser.  It all started with a simple email sometime in 2008 on “What people don’t know about money when they get married”.  That sparked a long discussion on how to create a company with the sole goal of helping people make educated decisions about their financial lives without the conflicting interest of needing to sell them financial products. With the financial crisis in full swing, making this business a reality and helping people who had been impacted became a passion for Hallie and Shay.  In 2009 Get It Together was incorporated and has grown and blossomed, but our roots have remained in providing unbiased financial education and guidance to people of all ages, stages, incomes and situations.  In 2016, we rebranded under the name Perspecta with Get It Together remaining as a program and book brand.
